Some Thoughts During Mental Health Awareness Month

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I am back. Did you miss me?

I took an unplanned break last week to reset and reflect and that is an ongoing process, I am not done yet. But temporarily, well for right now, no set time but it feels right, I will go back to posting once per week on Sundays.

Life has been busy and I am tired. So tired it feels difficult to sit and read, difficult to sit and write. Hard to create anything. But I also know that I am not in crisis and that this is simply a period of transition and the world right now is tough and that I deserve to give myself grace and space to simply be and sit with my feelings.

This makes me feel particularly good. I have done the work to understand my triggers, I know when something feels off and I understand when I do need help and I am always ready and willing to reach out to my support system including family and friends and my doctor.

I hope that whatever you are feeling or experiencing now that you have the ability to process and work through that.

But here are some reminders for Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental Health Awareness Month 2026: More Good Days, Together

The organisation behind, Mental Health Awareness Month is Mental Health America and the 2026 theme is “More Good Days, Together.”

The group invites to reflect and consider what our “good days” are.

It says: “Good” doesn’t have to mean happy or productive. It might mean calm, manageable, or something else. What counts as good can change over time, and only you can define what a good day looks like to you.

No matter how you are feeling right now, remember: more good days are possible, help is available, and you are not alone.” – 2026 Mental Health Month Action Guide.

My hope for you is that you celebrate your good days, embrace the small joys and simple feel good moments no matter how micro they may be.

The MHA also has a printable journal prompt guide that you can follow and I encourage to access it whether you are struggling or feeling your best self this month.

But for today, I want to try this one:

Make a “good day” list. List 15 things that would make tomorrow a good day for you. Don’t limit yourself, and don’t be afraid to embrace the simple things and/or dream big. Then, choose 3 things from the list and think about how you can make them a reality. Is there a goal that you could start on today to make any of them possible for your future self?

Wishing you a happy May, a good Sunday and a fantastic week. Let’s have more good days, together.
