Q2 Reflections: Life Lately

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I disappeared for a month but now I’m back. Hi. I missed this space. My little slice of the internet.

So what have I been up to? Well a bit and also not that much at the same time.

Q2 Reflections

Q2 marked a significant shift in my life. After years of WFH, I returned to a five-day-in-office work schedule and boy was April and May rough. I struggled during those months. I was exhausted by the time I got home in the evenings. I simply showered, ate dinner and then did my nighttime skincare and wind down routine and went to bed. Then up at 5am to do it all over again.

But three months later a shift in perspective is slowly happening. I’m adjusting to my new routine and while Kingston commute and traffic is still awful. I feel like I am slowly restructuring my routines and again making space for my hobbies and personal projects.

I am grateful for the career growth I experienced in Q2. I started a new job in April.

I appreciate my continued love and support of my partner. He has been amazing during this transition.

I adore my best friend and I am happy and grateful for our time together this quarter with her and her babies. Love them so much.

Life Lately: July 2026

Lets do a rapid what I’ve been doing lately update

Reading

I am currently reading an advanced reader copy of The Wedding Planner’s Guide To Stealing The Bride by Jeevani Charika. I have enjoyed every Jeevani Charika book I’ve read and this one is off to a great start.

Watching

What am I watching? Nothing really unless you count struggling to stay awake for House of the Dragon on Sunday nights. Yes, let’s count that.

Using and Loving

A few things so let’s put them in their own mini categories.

Skincare: The Anua three step glass skin set along with the Anua sunscreen and the moisturizer I think it’s the ceramide one. Great combination, no irritation whatsoever. But should someone with oily combination skin even strive for “glass skin”?

Perfume and body care: Phlur Beach Skin perfume mist and EOS Beach Waves body mist and lotion

Haircare: My current haircare favs for wash days include using the Shea Moisture bond repair system but skipping the leave in conditioner and styling with The Doux Block Party anti humidity gel. Loving the results.

Listening: It’s been a few weeks since I listened to a podcast episode not sure why. But I’ve been loving and listening to my Corrine Bailey Rae playlist on Spotify.

And that’s what I’ve been up to. Hoping to be back this month on a weekly basis. Thanks for reading.
