Welcome back to My Jamaican Vignettes. Today we’re not talking about books instead we’re focusing on my next passion wellness and mindfulness. Today I’m sharing the apps that I use regularly to track my habits, water intake and food journal and more.

These are my wellness and mindfulness apps that I’m loving right now.

For further context I’m an Android phone user so all these are available in the Google Play Store.

Meditation

I no longer meditate every single morning. Instead I’ve shifted to meditating at nights and only as needed. I still use and love The Calm app. I’m currently making my way through the Relationship with Self series led by Tamara Levitt.

I have the paid version but I’d recommend you try it for free by doing the Seven Days of Calm guides meditation and see how you like it.

Gratitude Journal

I still use my Five Minute Journal on a weekly basis now for gratitude but since the beginning of June I’ve been using and loving the Gratitude Self-Care Journal app. I’ve enabled the journal prompts feature and it has been great so far. I tend to do around three entries each day.

Habit Tracking

I’ve used free version of The Fabulous app on and off for years but earlier this year I upgraded to the premium version and I’m enjoying habit tracking and daily routines. I have a morning routine for every day and work morning routines and nightly routines for the work week. I also enjoy doing the occasional five or seven day challenge such as stretching, skincare etc.

Food Journal

The Shape by The Fabulous is one of my newer apps and it has a food journal incorporated and wellness and fitness tips. One of my key takeaways from using this app was weighing myself regularly and coming to terms with the fact that the number on the scale is simply data and nothing that needs to be triggering.

Water Tracker

This is a simple free app that has ads but it’s the gamification of water intake and the handy water notification tone that gets me drinking water every hour to hour and a half. Previously, I struggled with drinking even five glasses of water each day and now I’m averaging 11 glasses of water. It’s called the Water Reminder App.

Key Takeaways

I’m always on my phone, scrolling through Twitter or IG or clicking through TikTok that these simple wellness and mindfulness apps have made a world of difference in my overall mood and general wellbeing and stability.

What’s your favourite wellness or mindfulness app? Do you use any of the ones that I use?

Let’s chat!

Next week we’re back to books and I’ll share a mid-year Read Harder Challenge update.
