We’re doing another haircare first impressions post today. This time we are tackling the Shea Moisture Bond Repair line.
I got these products in January 2026 and I really only have my first impressions because I used this once.
For context I have type 4 colour treated hair that is dyed at home using Dark and Lovely hair dye every six or so months.
Let’s get to my first impressions.
First Impressions of Shea Moisture Bond Repair
First up it is easy to use, very simple steps and instructions. It is a four-step system and the bundle I got online came with a shampoo, conditioner, treatment masque and a leave in conditioner.
The masque is a five minute deep treatment and I used it as instructed then rinsed it out.
I didn’t love the scent of the products initially but by day two the fragrance faded and it was pleasant.
So I used the products on Wednesday 7 January and I allowed my hair to air dry then fluffed it with my usual botanical oil on Thursday.
My second day hair results were soft and defined. It had a very soft hold and my wash and go lasted for three days before I washed it again.
What Shea Moisture Promises The Products Will Do
According to the Shea Moisture website the products are designed for:
Stronger, healthier hair is just four simple steps away with our 4-Step Bond Repair System, infused with restorative HydroPlex infusion for 84% less breakage and 6X stronger hair. Formulated for Type 3 and Type 4 hair.
How I Intent To Use The Product
I plan to use this product bimonthly and I will use it again near the end of this month. I will also use it the week after I colour my hair. I think my next colour will be in May or April.
This isn’t my first time using Shea Moisture products but it is my first experience with bond repair. I can’t speak to its effect just yet but I can give a six month update in mid-summer.

Please let us know if there is any improvement in the hair quality. I’m looking for products to revamp my hair health.
Hey Kimberly. Thanks for reading. Yes I’ll do a six month update. Or an update after my next hair colour.
