Happy Friday!

Let’s plan our April, shall we?

Things to Do in Kingston in April 2026

Easter Weekend

It is Easter Weekend April 3-6 so you get to use your own adventure for the holidays. Here are some recs.

If you want to head out of town, you maybe able to squeeze in something if you book it this weekend however changes are most places may already be booked. Try Portland for greenery and relaxation. Or St Mary for coastal charm and rural hospitality. St Elizabeth is rebounding and you may find something to do in Treasure Beach.

If you plan to stay in Kingston, you could opt for Easter brunch at a local Kingston restaurant. Or head up to Holywell for a hike and picnic.

Carnival 2026

Carnival in Jamaica (8-13 April 2026)

Experience the island’s ultimate celebration with soca music, costumes, and, notably, the Road March on April 12 in Kingston. The only carnival I’ve ever done was UWI Carnival back in 2006 but this is a great option for soca lovers in the city. And changes are if you love soca and Jamaica carnival you already have your costume, band selection, make-up and hair and shoes ready. Enjoy.

For the casual onlooker check Visit Jamaica and its socials and local news for information on the march.

And I think I will come back mid-April and update this post.
