Q2 2026 Goal Setting Session

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The last time we did a goal setting or brainstorming session was for Q4 2025 and things didn’t turn out exactly as planned but here we are in Q2 2026 and so let’s write down so ideas, goals and dreams for our lives. Grab your notebook because I want you to do this as well.

But before we deep dive into Q2 2026 goal setting let’s reflect on Q1 2026.

Q1 2026 Reflections

My Jamaican Vignettes

So for Q1 2026 on My Jamaican Vignettes, I decided to post new content three times per week on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays and I did that. So yay. Let’s celebrate the win.

On the other side of things not yet accomplished. I didn’t resume or restart or open up my mailing list so I am missing out on the benefits on having a mailing list.

Content promotion still feels a tad bit cringey but I share most posts on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky and occasionally on LinkedIn. Almost every post gets a pin on Pinterest. So I am counting that as another win.

Estimated readership for the quarter was around 52,000 visitors and 110,000 views across MJV. So happy dance.

Passion Project

My passion project stalled because I was focused on doing thing right and by that I mean officially a business instead of doing the work and getting thing in place. Lesson learned just do the work.

Personal Life

My primary focus was my mental and physical well-being and my relationships. Mentally I feel balanced and strong and prepared for whatever life has in store and I feel happy and grateful for that. Physically, I am again on my fitness journey and I am exercising for 20 minutes most days so I want to maintain that daily movement practice.

My relationships. I am showing up consistently for my family and friends and I love that. I want to continue to be there for my family and friends and also be open to new people being a part of my journey.

Reading

Up to the point of writing this, I read nine books so far in 2026 and my plan or goal was to read 24 books for the year. So I am on track.

Q2 2026 Goals

My Jamaican Vignettes

For the blog, I plan to continue posting three times per week. I primarily write on Sundays and I batch my content for a week or two and have things scheduled. I want to get consistent with promoting everything I post here so I will share across my social media accounts for every single post.

I want to increase my followers or subscribers by 10% this quarter and that isn’t much but hey that is my modest goal for Q2 so I need to be consistent and open and show as myself in all spaces.

Email marketing is again on the list of things to do and for Q2 I hope to have at least 50 people on my mailing list by June 2026.

Passion Project

Do it scared, do it unprepared. Do it messy but get it done. Soft launch is June 2026 so come bac here in May to learn more.

Personal Life

Show up for myself and my loved ones. I want at least one weekend with my family. At least two dates with my best friend and a chill afternoon with her and her littles. I want a date night each month with my partner.

I want to resume meditating as well.

Reading

I need to read and hopefully love and enjoy the next six books that I read this quarter. I also want to read ad review the books I have been approved for in NetGalley and Edelweiss.

Tips For Your Q2 2026 Goal Setting

Here are some basic tips for your Q2 2026 goal setting.

  1. Reflect on Q1 and see if you are on track or even if you still want the things you have wanted all the way back in December 2025.
  2. Choose three focus areas for the quarter and set meaningful and measurable success outcomes.
  3. Celebrate your small wins as best as you can.
  4. Definitely celebrate the big wins, when you reach a goal, stop and let that sink in and mark your milestones in whatever way feels meaningful for you and your life.
  5. Track your progress because some goals may take more than a quarter or a month to achieve.
  6. Keep going even if thing stall, you falter or stop. Start again.
  7. Accept feedback and allow yourself to pivot or change your mind if you need to.

Wishing you a fantastic Easter break.

And lean into what you want for your life in Q2.
