Author Spotlight: Tati Richardson

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Hey. Let’s talk books today. Books by Tati Richardson.

According to my StoryGraph account I have read four Tati Richardson books. So let’s do an author spotlight.

Author Spotlight on Tati Richardson

The first Tati Richardson book I read was her debut contemporary romance, The Build Up which came out in 2023. I rated it four stars. Here’s what I love about Richardson, her characters are in their 40s so this is romance that is mature and confident and of course, sexy. The Build Up also tackled grief, death of a parent and fatphobia and alcoholism.

Then I read The Oath in 2024 and this is written under T.M. Richardson and it is a why-choose erotica. Don’t know what that means, look it up. This may not be for everyone but it was my first why-choose book and I liked it.

Richardson’s latest series has two books, Losing Sight which came out in 2025 and rated that five stars it was funny, a hint of magic and paranormal and some whimsy and very funny. Her next release will be Struck Speechless which is set to be released on 28 April 2026. I read an advanced reader copy and I will say the main character Jackie will annoy you but in the end I was rooting for her and Antonio.

All the characters are Black people who are successful in their chosen careers and at the top of their game in their industry and they are in the their 40s.

If you like African-American romance and want something that doesn’t feature 20-somethings then I recommend Tati Richardson.
