Dream Big: Goal Setting Tips for 2026

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Hello December.

2025 was a tough year but I am still grateful, optimistic and hopeful for 2026. So here is what I want you do with me today, dream big. Let go of the fears and the self-doubt and what ifs. And start dreaming up the possibilities of what if it does work out. Consider the best outcome of your biggest, scariest dreams and let’s build our dream lives.

Let’s dive in.

Goal Setting Tips for 2026

By now most of us have heard of or used SMART goes so we want to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time bound. I want to deep dive, think back to childhood or adolescent or even consider what you hoped for a year or two or five years ago. Remember and reconnect to that dream that felt too much, too ambitious or too scary to pursue. I want you to make that dream your focus for 2026. Yes. We are going all the way to attaining our wildest daydreams.

Goal Setting Steps

  1. Write down the dream. Use your current journal or pull out a new notebook but get some written clarity on exactly what you want to achieve in 2026.
  2. Create an action plan that you can track your progress monthly or by each quarter.
  3. Get an accountability partner. Now your dream might be too personal to share even with those closest to you and I can understand that. But trust one person to say ‘Hey in 2026, I am working on a personal passion project, can you check in on me each month and ask if I am on track?’ It is that simple.
  4. Take your first step today. Don’t wait until January. There has to be something you can do today, this week that can help set you for success. If your dream is to be an entrepreneur, consider registering your business name today. If you want to write your first book, draft the synopsis or do an outline of the first act.
  5. Create a monthly progress reward system. Yep, you will be celebrating your small wins in 2026. You are doing something big and audacious so you deserve to honour and acknowledge your progress.
  6. Accept that there will be setbacks and challenges but promise yourself that you won’t stop until your dream is a reality.

Tap in and tell me if you are ready to tackle that passion project in 2026.

Next post will be a 2025 year in review and reflection post.

  1. I’m so ready for this. I want 2026 to be so cold and audacious that at least half of my goal/dream will be attained. Thank you for this post Chantel. Going back to my past dreams has made me realize that I’ve accomplished quite a bit and even though I’m not there yet, it’s encouraging. Looking forward to this challenge/goal and having my accountability partner and the progress check ins.

    1. 2026,let’s be bold and go after our dreams. Thanks for commenting Kimberly.
