MJV Bookish Thoughts: Summer 2025 Reading List

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Happy Summer 2025!

Welcome back to My Jamaican Vignettes. I held off posting this last week because I was waiting on my copy of Plus Size Player by Danielle Allen to be delivered. This is my summer 2025 reading list.

I really want to get my reading groove back. So far, in June I’ve only read one book, I liked it but that means there will be no June reading wrap-up. But we are now in summer and I want to lounge and relax and read and I think I found a selection of books that will keep me interested, engaged and excited to read each day.

Summer 2025 Reading List

On my summer 2025 reading list I have six books that I hope to read. No preamble these are my books:

Plus Size Player By Danielle Allen, book two of the Curves series. I listened to Curvy Girl Summer last year and I loved it. I may read my physical copy before I get to Plus Size Player.

Next up, Skin of the Sea by Natasha Bowen, fantasy with Black mermaids, that is all I know and that I is all I plan on knowing until I start reading. I’ve owned this book for a few months now and I really want to get to it this summer.

Pleasantview by Celeste Mohammed – this was supposed to be my June read Caribbean book and it still may be if I pick this up and complete it this week.

Summer’s Echo by Robbi Renee – I have a NetGalley e-ARC and I started reading reading it but only got to chapter two so far. This is contemporary romance.

Then I hope to get to Indigo by Beverly Jenkins, historical romance and Jenkins hasn’t disappointed me, so I am hopeful.

Then a thriller is in the mix with new to me author Shanora Williams’ Bitter Truth which I started on my e-reader but I still in the early chapters where I am confused but still intrigued enough to continue.

That’s it. Wish me luck with my summer reading. What are you reading this summer?
